Indian Chapter of IFSCC

The Indian Society of Cosmetic Chemists(ISCC) is the Indian chapter of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists(IFSCC). As on date the society has over 100 members.
The Indian Society of Cosmetic Chemists(ISCC)was founded by professionals from within the Personal Care industry in India in 2003 with a view to promote research and knowledge of the Cosmetic Sciences and Personal Care in India.
The ISCC was founded by a small group of  likeminded people involved in research and development from the personal care industry in 2003. IFSCC recognition was secured in September 2003 and the ISCC started activities from September 2004. ISCC members are drawn from academia, industry, research, consultants, editors, active manufacturers, packaging and raw materials from across India.
ISCC now plans to have regional branches across India.

Along with the cosmetic sciences ISCC also aims to promote Perfumery and Home Care sector of the market. It is a known fact that the Cosmetics industry has seen a huge growth in India with more consumer awareness coming up in the last few years. The society aims to serve as a focal point providing a proper forum to the industry for the exchange of ideas and new developments in cosmetic science research and technology. The society hopes that by providing the industry with avenues for growth in research we can be instrumental in improving the qualifications of cosmetic scientists in our country and also help to improve the level of services that the industry has to offer.

Educational Ventures

ISCC aims to cater not only to the industry publics who are in every way involved with the industry but also to the consumers so that we can build the confidence of the common public in the products and services offered by our industry.

ISCC organizers several scientific seminars as when possible featuring industry speakers presenting the latest innovations and topics from the cosmetic, personal care or related industry. The society also promotes education by supporting on-going lectures and projects in several cosmetic educational ventures in India.

ISCC Activities

ISCC activities include:
• Holding of scientific seminars.
• Acquainting members with cosmetic manufacturing guidelines and regulations for India as well as other countries.
• Creating an active interface between academics & industry through an on-going lecture series and projects in colleges offering cosmetic technology courses/degrees.
• Participating in / supporting industry exhibitions eg. "PCHi" and now "in-cosmetics" through their conference.
